As I finished my likely last revenue flight of the year on US, I wanted to start
a thread where people can post the summary of their upgrade results for the
year. The other upgrade thread is more of a flight diary and I'm looking more
for summary information on how successful GP's fared in upgrades, versus SP's
and CP's. Please post if you have kept track of this information.
I'll start, but if anybody has suggestions on a better format or other
information to make it more readable, I'm all for that.
Exceptions
+ One PHL-AMS where no upgrade attempt was made.
+ One PHL-SJO on an award ticket
+ One PHL-ORD-KIX in F on UA
+ One PHL-ATL-PTY on Delta
+ One DSM-ORD portion on United
+ One RJ trip home for Xmas to Bangor, Maine
PHL-SAN (1/2) due to discount F being sold only cleared the return
PHL-MUC (2/2 using DUMUTA3)
PHL-BOS (2/2)
PHL-ATL (2/2)
PHL-LAX (2/2)
PHL-SJO (2/2)

Only looking as mainline flights, and those that appeared on or after the June statement (so I can view flights online):
PIT - LAS and LAX - PHL cleared at the gate, all others cleared at the 3 day window or didn't clear at all.
No complaints from me. I'm really hoping that I'm not going to have to start flying WN to & fro on my BDL-PHL trips.

99% or so...the only flts that i didn't get upgraded as a cp were going PHL-PIT or PIT-PHL...wonder why...

I went through a real dry spell in the early summer and it was ugly. I haven't figured it up exactly but I guessing somewhere around 85% or less. (Don't ever pee on the CFO). In prior years I have always been in the 98% to 99% range.

I did not miss a single upgrade in 2004:
Year-to-date, I have flown 132,836 miles and 34 segments. 100% upgrade success + 20% bonus (gate agents upgraded two of my colleagues several times when I kindly asked them to even though they were flying on award tickets... of course it's probably b/c the agents at FLL and MIA know me well).
I was most proud of not missing the upgrade on any legs of my PHL - LAS -PHL trips.
On the retun leg of my PHL - FRA - PHL trip, I even managed to have seat 1B blocked on the A330! It never hurts to ask to have it blocked if the flight is not very full.

Not much travel since May, but as a CP all flights were 100% on mainline with a guestimate of about 50% on my PHL-PIT flights after they changed to the F8 config. 0% upgrade on my 4 award flights.

For '05 (if US survives), I'll be US Silver. How does the upgrade process work? After web checkin, do I head up to the GA and ask to see if I can be upgraded? Do I head to the check-in counter and ask? Sorry, but I've never been metal before. TIA.

Wife was US GP for all flights (I was her *G LH SEN companion), and we traveled with a friend who was also US GP.

All three of us got upgraded at check-in (maybe at 3-day window--we didn't follow up) except for one that was given at the gate. We were more than ecstatic ^ - we figured at least one of us would be in the back (probably me!) but it didn't happen.

100% upgrade success on paid tickets as a Gold and then CP. 0% success on award flights, even when there were empty FC seats and I begged the gate agent. :)
