Hi folks,
I just hung up with DM Intl. Awards trying to book IAD-FCO on a *A partner in late October. I already had the outbound on hold (10/24 SK in business IAD-CPH-FCO), but today was the first day that availability for the return could be checked. The first agent I spoke with said nothing was available. The second agent found coach seats on OS (10/31 FCO-VIE-IAD), but no business seats. She suggested that I could ticket the itinerary now and keep checking until departure to see if any business availability opens up, change my ticket if it does, and there would be no penalty. However, she also asked me if I had held my outbound through the web... which isn't even possible for *A award travel. Is reticketing the return in business actualy possible without paying a fee?

Maybe if I call and talk to a third agent, business availability would magically appear! :D Any advice about checking award availability on my own? It seems UA's website doesn't allow me to check for 10/31 yet and I don't have LH miles to access their award booking on the web.

just checked for you on LH award site, for 10-31-05 from Vie-IAD there is avaibility on OS 093 departing 11:05 arriving 15:00 in C of course!

don't forget that because it's available for LH M&M members it might not be for other *A but worth a check

hope this helps

is to fly to lgw or dublin and then take a low- cost carrier to Rome. The availibility on star partners is much more limited; for US flights, just check the website. Just booked a ticket PHL to MAD, and then bought a cheap ticket from MAD to BCN. I'm trying to burn as many miles as I can now!
