Wondering if anyone could share success or unsuccessful attempts to do an upgrade using US Miles (not e-upgrades) for domestic and international US metal flights with tickets bought from another airline (i.e. UA, LH or JK tickets codeshared onto US flights).

US denyed a previous attempt whereas UA can upgrade a UA flight issue by US with UA miles while crediting it to US.
