I was aboard Flt 2924 PHL-YUL this morning when we ran into a ground vehicle and created quite a big of damage to the vehcile and i think the driver was hurt

It was over an hour and fiftenn minutes before anyone from U even asked the passengers how we were feeling and was everyone ok. And that was the bus driver who took us back to the terminal.

The flight attendand did not get out of his seat until we were leaving the plane

The ground agents were horrible, had no idea what to do, another plane was coming, then it was not, then another plane might come but they never said what would happen.

They just gave up and started booking people who were standing around on other flights but unfortunately very few options and flights with seats available.

What a joke

Follow up
. It seemed like the driver of the vehicle was hurt - he was in the vehicle for a long time being attended to

2. Not sure if the vehicle was moving or not -it was off the taxi way after the accident.

3. I am still shocked that a plane with +/- people could hit something and clearly injury someone (the driver of the truck) and USAir, Mesa, Philadelphia police bothered to ask if anyone needed medical attention.

4. Further to annoy the situation, they started with
a. we have a plane in range we will use to to make up this flight - never materialized - nor did they tell people that it was not going to happen
b. we have a plane in the hanger we are trying to get permission to use - never happened, nor did they tell people that it was not going to happen
c. they gave out food vouchers - but supposedly most of the vendors in F would not honor them (don't know that for a fact -just heard others complain). U said you could go to C and use them but don't go to far away from the gate in case we get a plane
d. the supervisor tried to get the passengers in the club, but the club refused.
e. so a few lucky folks got on the next flight ( I rebooked driectly with US1 desk) but most either got stuck on standby for 5pm flight or sent to Air Canada, or routed through Chicago on UAL.

What a company

Ahhh, so that's why I received a FAA advisory stating there were arrival delays into PHL due to "SURFACE INCIDENT".

Ah, the wonders of F-con in PHL! I did not know of the incident until reading the above post; my best wishes to the vehicle driver of the vehicle.

While there are many wonderful people who work for express, the overall operation at F-con is an embarrassment.

Last night we landed far away from an F gate, they then sent a bus for us. We stood inside the plane for 20 minutes while they waited for someone to take the gate checked bags off. The bus driver then got on the flight PA and said that " everyone needs to get their stuff as fast as possible and get on the bus. We will stop at F and then C". Our CRJ was full, so 50 folks plus luggage on a bus so crammed you couldn't take a deep breath. The FA did apologize for as he said " another Philly mess"

It was pathetic.

Most if not all of the airlines have specially trained representatives who respond to a given location when there are accidents, but perhaps they didn't quallify this one in that regard. Also I've never flown through F in PHL and too bad it is not well run since it is supposed to convey an image of this newly built F express terminal. Also I did not hear of this situation other than on Ft.

The accident occurred no where near the F concurse but rather on the farthest taxiway from the terminals

IMO, the maddening thing about all of this is the LACK OF COMMUNICATION to the pax who were apparently sitting there on the plane wondering what the HHHH just happened. If I read correctly, the OP states that they sat there for an HOUR ?!?!? Good grief.

Now, I fully understand some of the constraints placed on the crew in such a situation. I know they don't want pax to offload in case the aircraft is not fully stable or if there is any chance of contamination from whatever, etc, etc.

But there is NO excuse for lack of communication from the flight crew. The captain of that flight had a significant responsibility to communicate something honest to the pax. Yes, I am sure he was embarrassed at his error and probably wondering if he'd be fired. Nonetheless, I really am angry that no communication was forthcoming.

I can recall a Piedmont Airlines incident in FAY perhaps 20 years ago where a 737-200 drove into a ground support truck. Instantly the interior lights and air systems failed and caused the pax to sit in total darkness (flighttime was after dark). Mind bogglingly, there was NO communication from the crew this time either -- and pax got furious (and scared). I recall that PI was fined for this incident and some large part of that fine had to do with lack of communication to pax about their safety.
