So as I mentioned, I had a C award to BKK, and I was able to change that to a F award with a reissue. I took it to the downtown DC CTO, and he reissued the ticket and I paid the $50 fee for a changed routing/airline. I realized today that he didn't take the additional 30,000 miles (90K to 120K) from my account. Should I be worried at all that I'll show up to the airport in December and there will be a problem? I have the paper ticket in hand that he printed out, which leads me to believe that everything is fine, but I don't want to show up to the airport and have to dish out $10,000 or something like that.

Why don't you call US Airways and ask them?

My experience is that it could take a couple of days for the miles to be deducted after ticketing. If you still have no deduction after a week or so, you might want to make a decision as to whether you call them or not... ;)

I've called a copule times to check on upgrading the last segment that's still in C to F (to no avail thus far), and no one has mentioned any problem. I had it reissued at a CTO, and he didn't really know what exactlu to do - at least it didn't seem that way (oh how sad I am that my favorite CTO staff member left). He almost didn't charge me until he read the notes as I was walking out the door. To the best of my knowledge, he didn't call DM Service Center to have the miles changed. I think I may post in the *A forum to see if anyone has any experiences.

Maybe you will take the flights and come home to find that you earned miles (+COS bonus)? :D

Someone that I'm related to earned miles to/from Singapore on award tickets on UA about 13 years ago. Even the class of service bonus was added, too.
But this was another airline in another era with a very different award structure. But 30K free miles is pretty nice!
My relative is still waiting for a reversal of miles....
