I have a shopping list of high-end cosmetics and creams and all that kind of stuff for various females in my family. Of course, Changi is a good source for this but - since I will be in the city Im wondering if I cant get some better deals outside the airport.

If anybody has the scoop on where to buy these kind of high end girl stuff, please let me know....

Thanks!!! :D

Try DFS Galleria (http://www.dfsgalleria.com/Galleria/English/Singapore/Singapore_Cosmetics.html) or CK Tang (http://www.cktang.com/instore-beautyhall-main.htm) on Scotts Road.

I am fairly confident that you can find just about any high-end cosmetic on-line in the U.S. for 15 % - 30 % less than you will find in SIN or BKK duty-free shops. That has been my experience anyway. You do have to pay for shipping. If that is not an option, then just about any department store in Singapore should have what you require. I've noticed that the Isetan store, at Orchard & Scotts Roads, seems to cover half the ground floor with cosmetics counters. You can always ask a female member of your hotel's staff for recommendations.

When you say in the US, do you mean in a US retail store? Im talking high end Shiseido creams, Lancome Cosmetics, and other stuff like Le Prairie creams.

I think transpac meant buying online. And I concur with him/her - that's been my experience as well. At retail stores, US brands (e.g. Clinique, Stila, MAC etc) are cheaper in the US than in Singapore. In fact, as a general rule, things are always cheaper in the US (competitive marketplace?).

I am pretty sure you can buy all this stuff on-line (on the internet) quite easily, and probably save some money. If that is not an option then you can find these items in any department store in the world.

Those European brands are definitely cheaper in Europe. You may want to try smaller towns/cities in France (not Paris) or shops in Belgium. Within one month before Christmas, you can find good discount in every luxury brand. I went shopping there every year. :D

Estee Lauder is cheaper in US than anywhere in Asia. Especially some tax free shops in the airports (like UA/British Airway terminal in JFK) do promotions from time to time.

I have never paid attentions to Shiseido though.

Do you consider ebay an acceptable source for purchasing cosmetics?
