To promote the upcoming comedy "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," White Castle will take up temporary residence on the Sunset Strip to serve up its famous slyders. The full-scale replica of the restaurant will squat at 8301 W. Sunset Blvd. across from The Standard Hotel for 11 days in order to give away 50,000 free White Castle hamburgers.
The feeding frenzy will begin after the 8:00 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 22 and will run through Wednesday, Aug. 11. For those not inclined to partake of the beefy excess, promotional activities and giveaways will also be available for entertainment.

I LOVE White Castle. Most here call them murder burgers, but I consider it a great treat when I get them. ^

Wow. White Castle. Never had them sober but they are THE thing when you're three sheets to the wind.
"Four double cheese, two deep-sea sliders with cheese, chicken rings, and a diet coke."
"That will be $2.40. Drive through."

I had the displeasure of eating at a White Castle for the first time last year in NYC. I don't know how they can even call that a burger, it's more like thinly spread dog food.

Why would you eat White Castle trash when you have "In and Out Burger"?

As a kid I lived on these things. What do kids know ?
I insisted one year as a child that my parents serve all our guests at my birthday party WC hamburgers.
Today I wouldn't touch these things.
You can smell who ever eats these things a mile away.
It turns my adult stomach. But happy indigestion LA. Enjoy :p
The chocolate thick shakes used to be pretty good though.

I do like White Castles, but even I would never call them beefy excess !

The only reason I ever ate (note past tense) White Castle
1) Onion rings!!!
2) Friends and I partied hard and didn't have enough money to eat at a diner.
I might be tempted to eat at a WC again if... if... I don't know. All I can say is that, for some reason, I'd be tempted to eat there again.

There is no burger anywhere that is as good as Southern California's IN-N-OUT Burgers! White Castle does serve a good purpose however, in that they've kept hundreds of thousands of Midwestern College Students alive through the years...

Most Southern Californians know about the IN-N-OUT secret, unpublished menu... http://www.tiburon-belvedere.com/cgi/home.cgi?c=In_N_Out I'm partial to ordering my burger "animal style!" My wife usually asks for her burger "protein style!"

Why would you eat White Castle trash when you have "In and Out Burger"?
Good question. I lived in Columbus, Ohio (home of White Castle) for many many years and can count on one hand the number of times I ate them.
Each time, I was cross-eyed drunk.
Come to think of it, they taste pretty good that way.....
