I just saw the above listed on my DM summary. I don't get it, they have charged me a mile for the Buy 3 Get 1 Free promo. What's worse is that I bought 6 and should get two free. Heck charge me the 2 miles but send me a confirmation of my free award tickets. So far I've got nuthin'. It's very strange.

They did this the last time they had the buy one get one free. The one mile should be back in your account soon if they use the same method

HAH HAH! This is toooo funny! Thanks for the link...it really made my day. :) This is why Taco Bells suddenly put in the LCD screen at the drive thru's saying "Please pay this amount. Call us if you are asked to pay a different amount".

Hopefully you will get the mile back, it is just something US does to show an award was issued.

Heck, in the old days, before e-upgrades, when paper upgrades ruled the earth, US would actually charge a $0.01 change fee when you upgraded on the phone using a certificate. Then at checkin the agent would have to override the one cent charge. This system was to alert the agent to collect an upgrade coupon (when they tried to check you in, the computer would prompt them to collect one cent, which they would override and then collect an upgrade.)

So all is good. Now, like you, I'm waiting on the e-certificate. Also, does anybody remember the terms and conditions for redemption? Specifically, are they transferable?

If it is the same kind as I got last year- you had to endorse it over at U ticket counter within 7 days of making the reservation. I used it for Mrs. Phillyguy and after making the reservation had to stop by the ticket counter and turn it in so that the e-ticket could be used.

A pain for sure but it was a free ticket.

Supposedly there will be ecert #'s sent by email as of July 1, tomorrow. To transfer them to someone else you must do so at a ATC. Usually ecerts can be redeamed at usairways.com by entering your ecert # on the booking options page.

My 2 awards were listed individually, each with -1 mile deducted.

So can I call US to actually use the ticket? Or do I have to wait for an email confirmation or something?

Is the availability the same as a regular 25k award? If so, it's useless for my trip to LAX and I may as well buy a ticket I guess.... Though it'll cost me $130 more now than it would've if the website had let me buy a ticket (didn't know that I could just call the help desk and I'm sure it's too late by now. But thanks for that info!)

I flew 7 flights in the time frame, but have had only 1 mile deducted. Guess I will wait a bit then take it up with them. I can wait, have no use for them anyway, I am very short on miles this year.

I did get my mile back as of the date I earned the award (one was March and one was April). My problem has been the GO Fares Triple Bonuses. You can get Go Fares between PHL and LAX and PHL and ORD, but if you have a connection, I had to ask for the triple bonuses.
