I was having problems purchasing an SFO-RIC-SFO ticket, for $136.90. It let me hold the reservation and call the USAir help line. Fortunately, I was put on hold (seems like an oxymoron-"fortunately" and "on hold" in the same sentence,) and the message said to go to www.usairways.com/special for an additional 5% discount. This worked fine and brought the fare to $132.00. The message said it is good today, 6/29/04.

Got my PHL-LAX down to $174.10 all in.
Didn't work PHL-PHX though (already discounted at $163).
And thanks to GOM-2, I'm set for next year.

Maybe if we are lucky this will work everyday like the United 5% online discount. :D
It would be nice if the discount could be used on any fare, however it seems that some of the lowest fares are not eligible.

Nah, they take it down whenever the hold times aren't too long. However, when it is in effect, it is always the same web page. I always check it first -- its on my bookmarks.

Not all tickets are eligible for 5% off but most are.

This is correct. When using the discount link, only flights operated by United, Ted, or United Express will be displayed.
