I found this on the milage run board and thought I'd post it here in case there were others like me who never check there. RIC is not a place that ever has these kind of fares, so I thought it was worth a note.

Thanks for the heads up on this amazing fare, Mike!
I found availability for the weekend of Aug. 14-15 at this price (T class, $138.20 all in) on the ITA Software site going RIC-PIT-ORD-SFO on the outbound and SFO-SAN-PIT-RIC for the return. PIT-ORD-SFO and SFO-SAN are on UA metal.
Unfortunately, when I called the Gold Preferred line to book, the exasperated agent couldn't get the return to price in T class, only S for $100 more, and I declined.
My advice to anyone who wants to get in on the $98+ tax T fare: book as soon as possible as seats seem to be snapped up by the minute. Looks like some weekends in July still have availability.

Gee, I wish this was available a couple of weeks ago when I needed to book SFO for early August. An approx. 4 hour drive to RIC would have been worth it for that fare. Instead, I got a $297 fare for GSO-CLT-SFO-SEA-PHL-GSO with 1 overnight with a little over 2 hour drive to/from GSO.
Now, I'm trying to think about how I can justify a quick MR on this one. The 4 hour drive each way is the dealbreaker.

Gah!!! My tickets home and back in August... could've saved me $400 bucks (less a trip out Richmond...)

I'm in for four (one of them is my wife, so really three). Only one is a pure MR. I still see a good bit of availability, particularly if you're willing to sit on UA. For some reason, pretty much every date from October-December only brings up UA metal. I'm thinking about trying to make CP and adding a couple more. If you do it, try to get 321 service to maximize the upgrade potential.
