Sorry if this has been asked before, but are UA and LH awards levels solely by the * charts?

The US chart had UA and LH added to it, but it now looks like it's US-only:

I think US-Europe is the same, anyway, but wasn't NA-SYD at a slightly lower cost UA/US only as opposed to the * award?

Thanks.

Note that the award URL is the same that was mentioned on:

There's definately a UA Australia award that's not there anymore, that was a 90K business ticket.

You're correct that the LH and UA awards seem to be missing and the chart is now labeled as US Awards. However, there is still a 100k FC award to/from Europe and since US doesn'y offer FC.... well, something is screwy.

If in fact all awards come off the Star chart that will be a big downgrade.

Also... The Star chart still has the little notation that "Some awards may be available for less miles on the US Airways Award Chart". That is no longer true if all UA and LH awards now come solely from the Star chart and not the "old" US/LH/UA awrd chart.

I have not been following the *A stuff and the US-UA-LH alliance. FYI just this week I was able to pick up 2 I (Biz) Class trips to Germany from NY for 80000 Div miles each.
I was surprised at the multiple availability choices offered me even tho one of them was on LO with a 4 hr layover in WAW, but there was plenty of LH for the last week in June.

From what I figure, if in fact there are no more UA specific awards using DMs, the real loss is the 60/90/120 mile awards to Australia. They will now cost MORE if the only awards are available are off the Star chart at 80/120/150 miles. This would mean that the QF awards (if you are able to get them) will cost less at 80/105/135.

If the UA/US tie up complete going over to *A what are the implications as far as status recognition of US preferreds on UA?

According to The Intl Award desk no more UA Australia awards. Only Qantas and *A awards to Australia.
