Has anyone used Verizon's in-flight "internet"? Is it worth the 15 dollars?

on both US and UA, and I love it - $6 for the whole flight to use MSN, yahoo IM, AOL IM -- last fall I helped my daughter with her college essays on a flight from OAK to ORD, and just recently used it on the long trip from PHL to SFO.

I would never do the $15 for email + chat, because I get too much email that is bigger than the "maximum" allowed without getting charged more. But if you use instant messaging a lot, and I do, it's a pretty good deal to be able to IM your way through your flight.

VERY easy to set up, by the way. The biggest hassle is if you're in a plane that has only one phone per bank of 3 seats - if you're not the guy in the middle, you're going to annoy the guy who is with all the wires and fussing.

Yes, I love it! I use it on every transcon I take.

That's if your flight has operating phones. I have used it and its great, though its not 100% reliable. I had to reconnect maybe 5-6 times. Coming back from the west coast, row 1 on an Airbus 319 did not have the phones. I asked the passenger behind me if I could use her phone, but the entire airphone system was defective and not working. Again, last week the phone in my row was not working. It only makes sense the times that I do want to use the phone, it's broken. :mad:

I was all psyched to try the JetConnect out on my last MR out to LAX and back on 321's. I was surprised to find that both of my planes were missing airfones - what a bummer!
