What is the name of that palace in the second movie? You know, the one with eye soup, live baby snakes fresh from the source and, my favorite, CHILLED MONKEY BRAINS!

I thought the monkey brains were served 'fresh' in the movie;) However, as I've been told in Delhi, the monkey is worshipped by most in India, and is not eaten. If this is incorrect, I would like to know from someone with first-hand experience.
OTOH, snakes, eyeballs, very fresh (i.e. live) food are quite common in a number of Asian countries. The list is much longer, but for the squeamish, be grateful I am practicing broad self-censorship.

It would be extremely difficult to find any of the above in major cities of India. SEAsia, maybe..

Agree, but I did note that it can be found in 'a number of Asian countries'. For starters, such countries include China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and a good chunk of SE Asia.

If you are interested, let me know when you might be coming to town (Bangkok), and perhaps we can locate something interesting (although the area around Bangkok is actually quite tame).

Tongue in cheek Hollywood humor, not meant to be taken seriously. Spielberg's worst film till date. THe film was banned in India for some time for "insulting" stereotypes that it attempts to create.
The film takes place in the forties, if I remember correctly, and the CHinese kid is shown wearing a Mets cap. Shows how "thorough" the research is... http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdining_forum/wink.gif
