* The Restuarnt is just next block to the newly renovated 'Burbaki' museum (calculate about 45 minutes for a visit) and 3 walking minutes from the Lion's memorial and Glacier Park (calculate another 45 minutes, plus, if in company with asian friends another full hour for watching/shopping 'Kuckuck'-watches made in ..., etc.).

a traditional 'swiss classic' very old, charming, elegant (but no dress code) Restaurant, an entry into this guest-book is a must for all VIP's visiting Lucerne (the heart of Switzerland). Owners for generations the (Lucerne-) Buholzer family. The Parents and one son are mostly present to accomodate you (may be at the table near the old-ceramic-ofen from 1636?). One of the (now about 45 years old?) daughters did marry (some 20 years ago) Mr Anheuser Bush (the current president of the US-brewery); Mr Bush than did build a copy of 'the Old Swiss House' in Tampa, Florida (but, as Mr Buholzer told me recently, this copy, after the seperation some years ago, was 'dimolished').

Our choice (with 'overseas'-guest is often the 'Wiener Schnitzel' (veal in bread crumbs) prepared at your tabel (the Schnitzel have about the size of elephant ears, but they are very, very thin). To not get over the limits of your credit card (on the alcohol side), ask for a (US) 'Bud' on draughtto start and than stick to a fresh swiss wine (the french and other imported wines are very high priced).

Last visited with german brewers as my guest, on Sunday, feb-18-2001 (some FlyerTalkers have also already been my guests here in 1999 and 2000).
