Are there any good Burmese, Cambodian, Malaysian, Indonesian, Nepali, or Central Asian restaurants worth a special trip while in Seattle?

Are there any buffet-style sushi restaurants you'd recommend?

I believe that the Japanese Resturant in the Westin still has all you can eat Sushi for lunch, weekdays. It is not a buffet, it is served to you, fresh made and when I last ate there it was unlimited.

Additionally, the price was incredibly cheap. Like approx. $10.00 at last visit.

Check with the Westin.

Also believe that Todai is a Seattle-origin Buffet Japanese Resturant. We have one in Portland at Pioneer Place. Cost a couple of months ago was approx. $14 for week day lunch, $18 for dinner. Slightly higher on weekends. Excellent Sushi selection and absolutely all you can eat. Plus for the non-Sushiphiles, a vast selection of other Japanese items and desserts.

To check out location of Todai, you can use 411.com.

Wild Ginger is quite upscale but it is possible to eat for under $50 is you order smart. Many items are over $20 but stick with the standards. The fragrant crispy duck is popular. Several quality satay offerings (boar, pheasant, etc.) but expensive. The menu features pan-Asian cuisines: Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian. This is certainly an event destination and for whatever reason you will probably not find a single Asian eating there. Flavors are eloquent and bold but spices in most dishes are toned down for American tastes. While the atmosphere is dressy casual it is more dressy/dark clothing on weekends.

There is an authentic Korean Restaurant in Edmonds that is to die for. However, there are no table barbecues. They are cooked in the kitchen on platters like Mexican fajitas. Virtually nothing over $10. Spiciness that could knock your socks off. Can't remember the name but it wouldn't help since the sign is in Korean script. MANY positive write ups in the newspapers. Many non-Koreans know about this place which makes it packed virtually every night of the week. Very casual but great value.

Not exotic, but good...there are a number of good dim sum restaurants in the International District. My favorites are the China Gate and Top Gun.

It's not exactly fine dining - fast food, actually - but in the Uwajimaya Asian grocery in the International District there are several small Filipino, Thai, and other Asian restaurants. So if you have a craving for pansit, there's at least one place to go.

Uwajimaya also has a wide variety of good boxed sushi, as well as a very extensive selection of seafood, Asian produce, and Asian grocery items.

there is a nepalese restaurant on University Way. I can't vouch for its authenticity or
quality.

Lots of SE Asian restos off of Rainer Ave S.

Yahoo yellow pages doesn't turn up anything related to Nepal, nor does it have an Asian restaurants category (aside from the usual suspects).

Thanks, though. I'll keep trying.

The Eating Factory (http://www.criticsatlarge.com/USA/WA/Seattle/Eating%20Factory.htm) in Bellevue has all you can eat sushi. Lunch price was $11.95 last time I ate there.

The Himilayan Sherpa (http://www.himalayansherpa.com/) is the name of the Nepalese place off University.

Now that's why me co-worker was so eager to pick up the check for our 12 person group outing, and have everyone pay him cash... Grr...if only I had realized it. I'm feeling cheated....
