I did a search and saw some great suggestions for restaurants in New Orleans, however I am trying to organize a dinner for 10 people and need your help. We are in NoLa to have a wild and crazy weekend. There are people with different agendas and budgets. Is there a suggested restaurant in the French Quarter that has entrees in the $12-20 range? We would really like to make reservations since we will be there on a holiday weekend. I am not hoping for gormet; just good.
Thanks your your help

Check out the Gumbo Shop...its right near the famous (but horribly overrated) Cafe Du Monde. Its pretty much the only place in the Quarter that has prices locals can afford on a regular basis. I know they have groups there. The place has all the classics...and they're GOOD, too! Check out the website, www.gumboshop.com (http://www.thegumboshop.com)

A reasonably priced good restaurant in the quarter is asking for quite a bit. You might try the Palace Cafe (on Canal). I usually go here for Brunch, so I'm not sure what dinner is like. This is a part of the Brennan's family.
A better bet might be Herbsaint, which is in the CBD (so many of the restaurants in the quarter are overpriced and/or overly touristy and/or just plain bad, especially in the mid price ranges). This is only a short walk from the quarter and is a newer restaurant from Susan Spicer of Bayona (IMO the best restaurant in NO). I haven't eaten here yet but have heard very good things. It may be a bit out of your range, but you should check it out as it is cheaper than Bayona.
