Hello All,

Taking the sharing cue from Sweet Willie...n.b Toronto is my home town...

Senator Restaurant
249 Victoria St
416.364.7517

Ok, this is a great multi-faceted place. it is a diner, restaurant, jazz club. I can't speak to the restaurant (bistro) or jazz club/lounge as I have never frequented but I've only heard goods things about them.

To the diner at hand...

Please note The Senator has varied hours but I usually go in for breakfast/brunch on weekends.

Food...fresh juices are fresh. Breakfast is served with beans and if you go early enough (before 11am?) you even get your coffee included. It is the 'Senator' breakfast.

My new favoite is the breakfast granola bowl. It is a mid-sized bowl (prolly 3 cups in volume) of granola/yogurt/fresh fruit layered and with honey on top. Great! the granola is a nice robust mix and fruit chunks fresh and juicy. You might want to ask for the honey on the side (I found it a little on the sweet side with the honey on top, granola is sweetened).

The coffee there is a nice dark/medium roast without a strong finish. Not a dark strong roast like Starbucks house but definitely a strong coffee but without a huge kick.

They get really busy on weekend brunch so go early or expect a wait.

The location is downtown Toronto right near the Eaton Centre. Very close to the Delta hotel that seems popular downtown.

Good eating!
