I'd been to the Elephant & Castle pub for grub in Philadelphia (which is REALLY great because of all the fresh seafood), and wanted to try the one in Toronto for comparison, as it was just down the street from my hotel.

Went Saturday and liked it so much, went Sunday, too. I had a glass of house white (very good, dry and fresh) with the fish 'n chips entree - you have a choice of cod or halibut; I chose the halibut (apparently, if you order cod, you get two pieces, halibut is tastier and firmer but you only get one piece); the beer-batter breading was delicious and the fish was very fresh. There was a tasty tartar sauce to go with it, and the fries (chips) were excellent - I'd order the fries alone just for lunch.

I mentioned to someone I met that I'd eaten there, and he laughed derisively - shows you what HE knows; I would definitely recommend the place for reasonably priced, good pub grub served quickly and in a convenient location (at Yonge and Dundas Street)...

It's a far-flung, erratically managed chain. The one in San Diego is quite nice, with outdoor seating on the harbor across from the Star of India. The one is Seattle is sort of a dark dump, in the basement of a tall building.

I was there earlier this year, and they've remodeled, but the food is still very good! It also seems that this area has seen an explosion of little kebab places and thai restaurants and feng shui type Chinese places. There's a really good feng shui Chinese place up the hill on Yonge Street, directly across from the Courtyard Hotel. Lovely little restaurant with a wall water fountain on the side. Highly recommended, as well.
