A smallish place but do not be fooled by the exterior. This place is rumoured to have the best Mabu Dofu (cubed spicy tofu) in Tokyo. After three years in Shanghai, I am not sure this claim is overstated.

Fans of Mabu Dofu will enjoy the spiciness, the sesame taste as opposed to simple soy sauce and chili. The lack of fat from the pork and the presence of plenty of garlic. Yumm!!

To truly have the experience, head in at lunchtime when all lunches are JPY1000 and order the “Chin Mabu Gohan”. This is not on the menu, but a dish prepared for regular customers as it is very popular. It is a soup bowl style dish which is half filled with rice and half filled with a special spicy version of their Mabu Dofu.
