My wife and I recently stayed at the Conrad and quickly learned of all the places to eat in Suntec as the hotel didn't really seem to have a good selection of restaurants. I don't remember any of the names but I will try to describe them the best I can.

Japanes Restaurant: You can sit at a table or at the main bar where there is a conveyor belt that has small plates of Japanese food going by that you can just snatch up. The different colored plates determines what you pay. You can also order items ala carte. We ate their twice. Once at a table and then in front of the conveyor belt. I think we ended up paying the same amount when ordering vs grabbing things off the belt. Food was quite good and fresh. The service was very good. They also had good desserts. The restaurant faces the Fountain of Wealth.

Tony Romas: Right next to the Koi fish pond. We got a window seat. We ordered the dinner for 2 which included, bbq ribs, bbq chicken, 4 corn, fries and I think that's it. More quantity than quality and the food did take a bit long.

A little further into the mall, we found a seafood place that served food in a black griddle pan. My wife loved their shrimp, served whole including head and shells but huge. A dozen shrimp and some vegetables. They were out of Portuguese Chili Crab both times we went so I ended up ordering Fish and Chips and some other stuff. Not really to my liking but wife was happy. We never ate at the main food court there as it seemed it was too hectic.

We met some FTers at the Raffles City mall and had lunch at the food court. I don't remember what I ate and neither does my wife. A bit hectic but had fun meeting new people.

Dinner Buffet at the Night Safari. Avoid at all costs. Eat before you go, bring a sack lunch, anything but eat there. They found a way to mess up spaghetti.

That's all I can remember for now.

Thanks for sharing these, and your other, reviews.

I think the seafood place was Fish & Co.

That is correct, thanks. They have the funky looking menus. Eating is one of the only things that I can remember about SIN http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdining_forum/smile.gif

The Japanese conveyer belt restaurant is part of a local chain. There is one at Holland Village. We had late lunch there and were quite pleasantly surprised at the quality and the price.

Spaggedies cater corner from the Conrad is quite edible if one needs an Italianate fix.

Oscars in the Conrad is a real bargain at S$40 for the buffet and prepared to order entrees (multiple helpings if one wishes} All sorts of seafood including slip lobster, soups (weird hot and sour-Singaporean, not Pekin), salads, home made icecream and sorbet, cakes, and other goodies. The $S18 wine buffet is the best alcoholic bargain in Singapore.

Takashimaya (Orchard Road) food court has countless stalls.

Long Beach Seafood was quite good. Excellent Chili Crab.
