Any suggestions on dining in or around San Francisco with a 7 and a 4 year old?

Sears Fine Food to start with. Then, get to SoMA and do the hip things there.

Assuming kid tolerant if not kid friendly is the question:
1) Any Chinese restaurant, especially those that have dim sum around brunch/lunch time.
2) Just about any restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf area including Pier 39.
3) coffee shop type restaurants

Yes, and thank you for the suggestions!

Places on Belden Street are fun for kids, if you can sit outside on a warm day. Grand Cafe is good. Il Fornaio and the Fog City Diner are good.

Well, my kids like all of these, but then they are pretty adventuresome eaters. I find other people's kids don't necessarily like the Asian places I think would be fine.
