Yea Man! Jerk Chicken in Chicago, like being on the Islands. If you miss your Island food, try these spots.

3-D's Jerk Chicken Restaurant
5317 W. North Avenue
(1 mile west of the Kennedy (90/94))
Chicago, IL
Phone: 773.637.6518
Hours: Mon-Sat 11am-11pm, Sun 11am-7pm

3-D's is not a restaurant, it is simply a take-out place. Can be intimidating w/everything behind bullet proof glass, but the juicy Jerk chicken and terrific curried goat make the trip worthwhile.

While 3-D's is VERY good jerk chicken, the best IMO in Chicago is Tropic Island Jerk Chicken, w/two south side locations. The 1922 E 79th location is takeout only.

Both 3-D's and Tropic Island serve other items such as curried goat (3-D's is the best here), jerk shrimp or catfish, brownstew chicken/catfish. Also served are redbeans and rice, steamed cabbage, candied yams.

If going for lunch do not show up promptly at 11am at any of the stores, as EVERY time I have done so, I have had to wait from 5-20 minutes for the stores to open.

just got done drinking some Red Stripe and munching on 3-D's jerk chicken. Spicy/hot chicken with cool beer. MMMMMMMMMM!

We got our food a little before 9 tonight and they mentioned they sometimes run out and close early, so beware closing times are not precise.

Is that address right? I'm just trying to figure out how 5317 W. North can only be a mile off the Kennedy (which is about 1600 W. North)

Unfortunately, my car does not go to North and Laramie, it stays north of about Fullerton from about Damen to about Narraganset. My aunt lived for years at North/Narraganset until she moved into assisted living earlier this year. I'm not saying, I'm just saying....

79th and Jeffrey, however, is a possibility someday.
