Does anyone know of really good restaurants in Santa Barbara? We will be staying at Bacara. Thanks!

We had an excellent meal at the Wine Cask. For additional suggestions and reviews, check out

I'd suggest doing a search at www.zagat.com (http://www.zagat.com) It's pretty reliable.

I dont even know if this place still exists, but there was this Peruvian place called Papagallo (sp?) that was amazing. Granted this was 10 years ago, but I'd definitely try to find it if I were in that area again.

I like Sage & Onion a lot. I also like Stonehouse in the San Ysidro Ranch, but that may be partly because I love the Ranch so much. Downey's and Wine Cask are both very well-liked, though I haven't been bowled over by either of them. The Mexican dive, La Super-Rica, is nationally famous.
Please let us know how you like Bacara.

Gosh... It has been a while... Cuca's (dive) on the Mesa is where to go for burritos.
There's a good Thai place on upper State St, across for the Wherehouse and Harry's is.

For something completely out of the ordinary, take a drive up San Marcos Pass to the "Cold Springs Tavern". Place first opened in the 1870's.
