I don't usually post unsolicited recommendations, but after the second fantastic meal at fairly reasonable prices, I have to mention A.P. Stump's in downtown San Jose. It's one of those "open-kitchen" California cuisine places that can be a little bit noisy but with live jazz and truly wonderful food. And excellent friendly service, as well.

I won't go through a whole review, but if you go, be sure to have the lobster and corn souffle appetizer.
