Is it possible to arrive on a CX flight from Hong Kong and transfer to a departing CX flight airside? Do I have to clear immigration? If yes, do they ask a lot of questions? I am just thinking of a mileage run.
Physically, you could do it, as the arrival and departure areas in the gates pier are one and the same. If you only have carry-on, I can't see why it wouldn't work... I guess you could check in for the return leg at one of the airside counters...

gbogo, thank you for the info.
I would assume there would be a transit counter somewhere then! http://www.flyertalk.com/airports/ftairports_forum/smile.gif
providing your luggage is checked through this will not be a problem. If you are connecting to another CX flight, you should be able to have your boarding pass issued at the original check-in location, so won't even need an agent at AKL. There is a QF lounge if you are an eligible OW member.
Oh, yes. The best thing about AKL is the cheap duty-free. Stock up while you are in transit.

Thank you, NM! I think I really may give it a try.
Looks like I'll be through on April 6 (QF93). Pitty its my outbound flight on a RTW. I would have to carry the "peace offerings" a long way, so will have to stock up in Singapore on the way home.
