I need to bring some good champage with me on a trip to India next week, and will be transiting NRT for 1.5 hours enroute to BKK-CCU.

Can anyone tell me if it's cheap or expensive to buy good (French) wines/champagnes in Tokyo?

Expensive at NRT. I would buy it on departure from the U.S. It is going to be cheapest at Costco.

There aren't any good champaign/wine selection in Narita airport. If you bring some sake, on the otherhand, you may find some interesting choices (although outside the transit area has better selection).

I think BKK has better selection and if you can swing by at SIN, there are even better selection.
