View Full Version : ATM Fees at Terminal 2

OK -- I wanted to have the first post in this forum -- but I do have a legitimate beef.

A while back, Terminal 2 had Royal Bank (I think) ATMs that charged $0 for a withdrawal with my bank card. They also had a US$ ATM which I found to be very useful.

Now Terminal 2 has these "no-name" ATMs that charge $3 - $4 per withdrawal - I think the US$ ATM charges $3.50. I really hate this...

Are there any regular, non-charging ATMs at Pearson?

On the Arrivals level there use to be a full service Bank of Montreal (BMO) machine but it has been replaced with another BMO machine which just dispenses beaver bucks.

What about T3? I recently needed an ATM there and could only find the no-namers. I checked both Departures and Arrivals.

Didn't they used to have a couple of CIBC machine at T3 near the food courts? But I haven't been to T3 ever since CP moved to T2 and i never had to use the ATM at the airport.

I too, hate these new machines with a passion and refuse to use them. The fees are absolutely outrageous. Of course, I am sure that it why the GTAA and others, such as variety stores, are opting for these machines - they generate higher revenue for the host location.

The banks will of course have their own ATMs at the branches, but I see these no name ones popping up every where else.

My biggest beef is that they often do not even post what the fees actually are!

I used to frequent a local variety store with a major bank's machine, and while I was there, I would often pick something else up - a chocolate bar, a pop, etc. With the new machine, I never have a real reason to go into the store...

At the ATM near the $-exchange in T2 USA departures, it actually warns you about the fee and asks if you want to continue ... FWIW

That warning is required by US law, which may apply to US$ ATM's even outside the USA. Even if it does not, the company probably runs ATM's below the 49th also, and it makes sense to have a single program for all of them.

Not to be picky, but Toronto IS below the 49th parallel! http://www.flyertalk.com/airports/ftairports_forum/smile.gif

"Latitude: 43 degrees, 41 minutes north"

Could be - but this machine is before you enter US space and also dispenses in CDN $ only from what I recall - again FWIW

New GTAA-ATM network to my recollection is called "Frisco Bay"(?). As Mr. Turpin came to YYZ from SFO, perhaps this is the connection. Fees $1.50 to GTAA plus $1.00 to your own bank ttl $2.50. For those who dont want to support GTAA, and fly on a domestic flt: visit LCBO store (ols gate 81), buy a can of imported beer for under $2.00, ask for cash back ...

IIRC there is one BMO machine in terminal 3 if you look as well as an airport or airline credit union machine that is somewhat hidden and has no surcharges (other than the regular interac fee).

T2 central arrivals level, between areas A + C, there is an Airline Credit Union outlet with bank machine.
