Arriving in SJC noontime on a Saturday. Are there public transportaion options (light rail, bus) to connect to Bart in Fremont (or along the Fremont/Oakland corridor)? Or do I have to circle thru San Fran ?

It's a little difficult, but possible. First, take line 10 from the airport terminal to Light Rail (NOT to Caltrain). Then take Light Rail south (toward San Jose downtown) two stops to the Civic Center stop. From there, express bus #180 runs every half hour on Saturdays and takes you directly to the Fremont BART station.

Note: If you are coming in on AA or Southwest (terminal A), the bus stop for #10 is on the west side of the road by the terminal, near the curbside check-in. Baggage claim is on the east side. You will have to pick up your bags, then come back across the road (on the pedestrian bridge) to the west side to pick up the bus.
