Have not flown out of Midway for quite awhile. Needed to take very last minute to DFW. United $1500+, Vanguard $242, HELLOOOO Vanguard!
Midway for me stinks because I am 10 minutes from ORD. BUT.........
The whole layout has improved and (dare I say it?!?!) the airport was actually clean! Normally I do not care too much if an airport is that clean, but I felt Midway looked like a VERY dingy bus terminal w/dust bunnies rolling down the halls.
Nice job to the Mayor and folks at Midway!!!
Say what you will about Daley, but with him in office the city works.
By the way, that "oh so cheap" Vanguard fare actually ended up being over $500 as the morning flight from Midway to their connection city (Kansas City)had a mechanical problem. Got in too late to catch the 1st flight to DFW, next flight departed after 4pm effectively ruining the day. Thank God AA had a last minute, one-way for $280. I would think this is the biggest reason that a biz traveller can not fly Vanguard, due to if the is a delay, Vanguard does not have the number of flights, nor reciprocal relationships w/other airlines to get you to your destination when you wanted.
