I will be in transit at the new HK airport, can any one let me know if there is free shower facilities or even a nominal charge is acceptable.

There is a pay facility/lounge. It is not cheap (USD20 or so). Departures level at the crotch of the "Y".

The US$25 one includes shower, food, drinks, magazine and internet use.
There is another shower only facility close to gate 60 for US$9.
Then go to the food court close to gate 20 for free internet. You have to take the escalator to go to the food court upstairs.
The food court is also nice, quiet, cheap with both western and asian food.
