I have a 7-hr layover in HKG between 2 12-hour segments (LHR-HKG and HKG-AKL). Does anyone know if there are day-rooms in the lounges or elsewhere that I could catch up on some sleep? (I am travelling 1st class into HKG and Biz out...)

7 hours is a nice time to spend at the airport although if you like a quick adventue go out into town and do some shopping, check out the following thread:

If it's any help, I was in Hong Kong for some shopping last week, arrived at 15:30 and left at 00:15, it was plenty of time to shop!

Thanks, but I have been to Hong Kong many times - it's a great city. This time however, I need to SLEEP, not SHOP. I have 2 day-long meetings sandwiched between 28 hours travel either end...!

The hotel attached to the airport is called the Regal ( http://www.regalairporthotel.com/ ).
I haven't stayed there, but their web site advertises a day room rate of HK$500 for 6 hours.
Thank you wideman - much appreciated.

if u dont want to get out of hte airport, u can kill the time in the cabana at the Wing.
(u get in if u r OW Emerald, or flying OW F).
not really a bed, not realy sleeping; but u got a nice bath and fully flat 'sofa', plus 'wake-up service'!
u can check in a room at Regal. u probably lose a couple hours moving between the airport and the hotel....so it might be less hassle just stay at the Wing
