Does anyone know where I can find a high speed inteternet connection at LGW South terminal ? I have an AA Admirals Club card, but they only have dial up lines per the aa.com site.

As an alternative, what service could I use as a dial up for a one time use ?

Hi there,
As far as I know, you're completely out of luck trying to find a high speed internet access point in LGW.

You're going to have to use a dial up service. I'd suggest using a service called "Freeserve". That's a free ISP in England. Check out www.freeserve.net (http://www.freeserve.net) and look for the pay per use section. I think you can register with them over the net and create an account. Then when you are in the UK you can use a dial-up from any phone for a local rate call. The access # I use is 0845 6075602.

Good luck,
Jason

Thanks for the great info !! I just signed up over the net from the USA and all went very smoothly. One question: the access number they gave me was different from the one you mentioned. Is the one you suggested suitable for using at LGW ? I asume the one they gave me was based on my postcode for the hotel where I'll be staying in Marlow.

Thanks again for helping me put with this,It will make a real difference on my trip !

Hi there,
Glad the info was useful. Don't worry that the number is different. Freeserve covers the whole of the UK using non-area specific area codes with a whole bunch of different numbers.

Have a good trip,

Thanks again, I just got back from the trip (only 3 days) and the Freeserve solution worked perfectly. I got speeds up to 44k from my hotel room......... which by the way had US jacks so I didn't have to use the converter I brought along.

Now maybe you can help me with my next problem....... If offered a job in London (Bucks) do I uproot my family from America?

If I am earning 115k GBP/yr (+car) what kind of lifestyle will I lead ?
