Am thinking about a December mileage run HNL-SFO-LHR, and one possible itinerary would leave me with 5-6 hours to kill on a Sunday morning at LHR.
Seems like a nice opportunity to pick up some holiday gifts...so how's the shopping at the airport?
Tried to check the BAA website, but it keeps stalling and timing out on me...so I thought I'd turn to the experts here at FT for guidance!
Thanks in advance, and aloha.

If you are coming into Terminal 3 (UA/AA) and staying there then shopping is excellent - Harrods have an outlet there, There are electrical retailers etc.etc.
These are situated airside.
If you pass through Custom Landside shopping in Terminal 3 is possible, not the same selection.
Airside/landside shopping T2 not partuclarily good .
Airside shopping in Terminal 1 is good, Landside not so good.
Don't know much about Terminal 4 shopping.
BAA state that the prices in the shops are no higher than those in shops in London.

Raldal, thank you for the tip. I'll be on AA, so Terminal 3 it is. And even a Harrods...wow!

The airside Harrods in T3 is certainly a mini-Harrods. Perhaps 15 x 30 meters in size.
If one's goal is simply to obtain Harrods branded products, this shop will provide those products.

If you go to www.baa.co.uk (http://www.baa.co.uk) you will get a list of stores by terminal.
