For fellow commercial aviation history buffs, the BA lounge in Terminal 1 at LHR has fabulous historical posters lining the corridor leading from the foyer to the business center. Does anyone remember Imperial Airlines?

There are several worthwhile books in the UK for those interested in Imperial Airways, the pre-1939 ancestor of British Airways. Recently out is "Adventurous Empires" by P. Sims, a quality coffee-table account of the flying boats that linked Britain to Africa and Australia. My favourite is "Beyond the Blue Horizon" by A. Frater, published about 15 years ago, that compares the pioneer air trip from Britain to Australia in 1930 with a contemporary trip by its author stopping in the same cities along the line.
