I have a 4 hour layover in LHR on my way to DEL and back. I am flying on UA and as a PremEx will most likely visit the RCC. It's my first time through LHR. Is there anything else in the airport that I should do? shopping, eating, etc.

You'll not have any troubles keeping busy in LHR. It's the busiest INTL airport in the world, with all the food, shopping, and planespotting a person could want! It's also the crossroads of the earth, with every conceivable race and nationality wandering around!

For a guide to the stores and facilities at LHR terminal three check out www.baa.co.uk (http://www.baa.co.uk) and navigate to 'terminal 3 shopping / eating & drinking after security'

If you're in to plane spotting, LHR has a great observation deck above Terminal 2. it gives a clear veiw over one of the runways, T4 and the T2 ramp. There is also a aviation hooby store that sells models, books, magazines, etc. To get to it, exit T2 and make a right. Go around the side of the building and climb the steps. The way to get there is well signed from all the terminals.

RCC at LHR has showers so you might want to do that rather than immigrate and visit the obeservation tower.

They have a view of one of the runways, and so if you get a seat you can watch the planes land/take over depending on the use of the runway.

Why not try out the new 'The Island' lounge arrival facility? It's open to anyone for £25 and has showers, breakfast etc etc.

More info available on LHRs part of www.baa.co.uk (http://www.baa.co.uk)

Never used it myself (yet) so I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has used it how nice it actually is......

enjoy LHR!!

I haven't visited 'The Island' myself, but I thought I'd point out that it's now a Priority Pass lounge, so arriving Priority Pass passengers can now use it for free (if a full member), or £15 for a regular member.
