I'm flying in to LHR in a couple of weeks and need to make a T3-T1 cnx. I should be getting in at 7:00 a.m. on AC, and I have a scheduled 7:55 a.m. on BD. I'll be flying J, so I should be off my flight fairly quickly.
Two questions:
1. Can I walk between terminals?
2. What are the chances of making the connection?

In theory you could *just* make this connection, but it really is too tight to expect it to work in LHR. 6-8am is probably one of the busiest times to arrive into LHR, so there is a good chance that your flight will be kept holding before you even land. Even then, it could be 10-15 minutes before you arrive at the gate and can actually get off.
It is possible to walk between the T3 and T1, or you can go through the Flight Connections Centre (FCC), which involves getting a bus. However, most of the AC flights arrive in a remote end of T3, so there is a very long walk involved (maybe up to 30-40 min to get to T1). There could also be another long walk when you get to that terminal!
The only way you're likely to make the connection is if you can arrange for someone from AC or BD to meet you at the gate and take you directly to the other flight. They may do this simply because you're flying J, or because of your AC status. I'd ask at the gate before you leave Canada. Other than that, I'd suggest you wait for the next flight out of LHR. BD have 2 lounges in T1 that you can use.
hope this helps!

55 mins is very tight.......I would try and organise sonmeone to escort you to T1 in advance - might be worth calling them a few days before hand to organise and then confirm at the gate/check-in when you depart.
Landing at 7am shouldn't be too bad -
My early mornign epxerience is mostly EDI-LHR
I usually get the BA 6:40 to arrive at 8:15 and almost invariably hold for 10-20 minutes (that's why they schedule 1:35 for a one hour flight!)
I used to get the BD 06:30 which seemed to hold a lot less - wonder if leaving 10 mins earlier really did make all the difference.....anyone know?
Why not keep an eye on http://www.baa.co.uk/main/airports/heathrow/flight_arrivals_frame.html to find out whether your flight is regularly on time...

Thanks to you both. I'll see what happens. If I don't make that connection, the next flight is at 4:00 p.m., so I may do some rearranging.
