Hey, I'm flying into LAX from PHX on HP, then leaving about an hour later on CO. This means I must go from Terminal 1 to Terminal 6.

I know I will be cutting it close, but I will be checking into my CO flights before I leaving PHX. So all I will have to do is go from gate to gate.

What's the best way to do this, take the interterminal bus? Walk?

I'd guess walking and the bus would take about the same amount of time. Normally walking would be faster, but with the dedicated commercial vehicle lanes, curb traffic is lower.

If you walk, go toward United's terminal (#7), then hang a right when you get to the other side of the "horseshoe". It is possible that you can't walk through parking lot six, as it is still closed indefinitely.

An hour is going to be cutting it tight. If you run into any security hangup, you could miss your CO flight. Terminal Six security is usually OK, but who knows.

Best way is on the A-bus. A is for airline connections and B,C, and D are for
parking lot's, so make sure you get the right one. You can make it, just have to hussle. Terminal 6 isn't as busy as some of the other terminals, so that helps. You can also, fyi, do security at T7(UA) and take the walkway over, but again, T6 should be easier. In the future, I would give atleast 2 hours in changing planes at LAX, save maybe within terminal. As I have said elsewhere on here, LAX is a terrible place for changing planes, though not as bad at JFK(pure hell!) and Heathrow.

It's an easy walk. I would go outside rather than cut through the parking structure. Turn left as you exit Terminal 1 baggage claim and then take the series of crosswalks to cut through the open parking lot at the east end of the airport. If you hug the east wall of the easternmost building in the area between Terminals 1-4 and 5-7 you will get to the other side pretty directly. Terminal 6 is then to your right.
