The guards at Century and Sepulveda told me that as of this morning (Thursday, September 20) only employees are allowed to walk into the airport. Passengers must take the shuttle.

I don't see the advantage to turning away pedestrians when they can bus over from the LAX Transit Center on 96th Street without a security check anyway. I'll phone the authorities next week and find out the rationale, if any. In the meantime, I have to budget about 10 more minutes for the shuttle than I did for walking over to Terminal 1.

This is unbelievably stupid. It's difficult enough to get most Americans to walk even a short distance, and here we are BANNING walking. Yeah, sure, that's really going to increase security. What a joke.

I saw a picture a couple of days ago in the paper of the end of the Golden Gate Bridge. The sidewalk to the bridge was gated off, in the name of "security". Yet, you could clearly see cars on the bridge, in both directions. I sure would like to know what idiot decided that it would be easier for a terrorist to walk a bomb onto the bridge than to drive a bomb onto the bridge.

IDIOTS!
