If you fly into IAD and need to get anywhere in the DC area that is served by the metro, here's a great low cost way to do it. Catch MetroBus 5A at door 4 on the departure level of the main terminal. The bus will only make one stop in Herndon and then you will go directly to the Rosslyn Metro station (or L'Enfant, if you stay on)where you can catch the metro to whereever you are going. It costs 1.10 (or .25 if you have a transfer). I am normally not a big fan of buses, but this bus is nearly as fast as the Flyer Bus and no hassle at all.
