According to the Georgia Straight, the best spot to watch a/c movements at YVR is at the Fraser Arms Hotel at the south end of Granville Street.

The park on Russ Baker Way between Vancouver Int'l Airport and Airport South is pretty god, and so is Iona Island's North Arm Jetty, where you can practically reach up and touch the planes, but Vancouverites not wanting to cross the bridge can snag a table in the Fraser Arms Hotel Lounge. Windows in the bar and on the semi-enclosed deck offer an alternative perspective of landing and departing aircraft.
