Does anyone know where I can get a map of the Frankfurt airport? We have approx 2 1/2 hours to get some breakfast and catch our connecting flight to Cairo.
PS anything else to do or see there ?
Thanx Jim

...just check out http://www.frankfurt-airport.de/en/index.html, where (e.g. via the sitemap) you will be able to find (rough) maps of the terminals and lots of links regarding shops, restaurants etc. If you like "airport spotting", I would recommend a (free) ride with the Sky Line shuttle linking terminal 1 and 2, as it provides nice views of the tarmac. I am not sure if they are open??? since 9/11 but FRA has(had) incredible observation decks on top of Terminal 1 and 2. Some walking, but fresh air and good views of the planes, standing over a Syrian Air 747SP is fun.

Tons of shops and restaurants, a whole shopping area downstairs in the basement area, near the trains to the city.
Incredible Airport!

I'm hearing conflicting report on the observation decks. Of coarse it's pretty chilly these past few weeks, so I don't know it I'd want to pay the 4 euro to stand out in the 30 degree weather.

An alternative is sitting in the table area next to the McDonald in Terminal 2. There is a huge window where you can see the planes landing a taking off.

Terminal 1 has a great selection of shopping. There is even a decent grocery store on the lower level of Terminal 1.

Here is a link to all the shopping available:

The skytrain between terminal 1 and 2 is very quick and you get a good view of the airport just from the short ride.

The observation deck in Terminal 2 (outside of McDonalds) is closed for security reasons. I would presume the T1 deck is also closed. Best bet is to just eat at McDonalds in T2.

Great website jplenny! I needed to know the hours for the supermarket -- and there they were! Thanks.
