FYI if you are picking up visitors:
About 1,000 people are camped out near Frankfurt's international airport for weeklong demonstrations against the forced deportations of illegal immigrants and a battery of other causes.
German Police have decided to call in an additional 2200 policemen to block all streets leading to Frankfurt airport where they can limit entry to those individuals with an airport badge who work at the airport and those passengers who possess a valid airline ticket. No visitors will be allowed entry.
The police blockade will be erected at an undisclosed time during the morning hours of 4 Aug 01 (Saturday) and remain in place until the evening hours of 5 Aug 01 (Sunday).
Police expect a significant traffic jam for several kilometers around the airport. It is highly recommended that drivers avoid the area to the greatest extent possible. This action will affect both Terminals 1 and 2 of the Frankfurt International Airport
