3 hours if you're checking in at FRA, or 75 minutes minimum for a legal connection.
I'm not sure these still time limits apply, as LH have just sold me a 60 minute connection BRU-FRA-ORD. FRA check-in can be a zoo though (unless you can use elite check-in and security lines) and I would allow plenty of time for this. Transfers on the other hand are not too bad if you're familiar with the terminal layout.

Guys, look at the original posting date: September 19, 2001! Everything is back to normal since at least mid-2002!

Does anyone know the minimum connection time for LH to UA at FRA?

The minimum connecting time in FRA is in general 60 minutes... If everything is one time, it should work. I would feel better if you have more because they often park in FRA on outbound parking positions and you have a long bus ride to the terminal. Especially for flights to the US, plan more than 60 minutes as you will have a second screening, extra passport controls and an early boarding time...

I just looked at iad-blq-iad.
UA operated by LH is 40 min each way thru muc(unless there is a time change in muc??)
fra min looks like an hour. return.
40 min we regullarly make the plane. 40min, the luggage does not normally make the plane.

I was hoping to hear that the official minimum connection time was greater than 60 minutes. I had schedule change on one of my flights that moved it from a comfortable 75 minute connection to a 60 minute connection. Considering that the LH flights I've taken before have come into the very far end of the A-pier and the UA flight left from C7 (and my flight was delayed). I barely made the connection having to take the airtrain, go through security, and do passport control.
