I was in Ireland for 2 nights 3 days last October. Although it was not enough time to see everything by any means, as it takes a long time to get anywhere (even with my boyfriend's autobahn-worthy driving). I managed to see a lot of the countryside, enjoy local music (& Guinness) in a pub in Galway, go to a wedding, and get a small taste of the beauty that is Ireland.

The trip in question is to Iceland and would be an hour or two closer to the US than most european destinations, avoiding serious jet-lag and requiring less travel time, so it would probably be much easier than my whirlwind visit to Ireland. That being said, I hope I get to go on a trip to Iceland someday, even if it's for only two days ;).
