Can someone tell me if I am missing something?

I am tossing around the idea of staying at a Ritz-Carlon overa weekend (the one in Pasadena, CA). They have a "bed and breakfast" package. $295 per night for a "deluxe" room. Includes full breakfast for 2 and valet parking. Same deal for "deluxe corner room" for $325 per night.

If I search for all rates for that same weekend, it seems as if I can get a rate of $149 for the regualr room and $189 for the corner room. That is a *big* difference in the package price. $136-146 depending on room type.

Now, does breakfast for 2 and a night of valet parking cost $146?? I can't imagine it would.

Am I missing something?? Will I get a crummy room if I pay $149 or $189???

This is not unusual - different rates have different capacity controls. Just like airlines. Pay for breakfast and take the deal.

OK. So I booked it.

We'll see what this cheap rate gets me. Probably the crappiest room in the hotel with a noce view of a dumpster or air condittioning unit.

I'll be sure to report on my stay.

The difference is that the corner room are biggger and are in the back of the hotel with a nice view. But when you check in, ask for a corner room anyway -- I did that and got it. I always take the cheaper deal. You should ask for a room in the main building and you really can't go to wrong (unless you face the parking lot). The property is nice and extensive, so there should be plently of rooms on a weekend that offer a nice view. The hotel is one of my favorite and have always been treated well there. Enjoy

The Ritz-Carlton Huntington in Pasadena, CA, is one of my favorite hotels ANYWHERE. Don't miss a poolside lunch. Enjoy.

Transcon1 & 0524,

Any experience with the Spa at the hotel?? My firend wants to do some spa stuff. Curious as to how good it is.

I don't have any personal experience with the Spa, but I would guess that it is good -- they do make a big deal about the spa there.

I will be staying there this weekend. Any suggestions on what rooms to ask for or any to avoid?

Thanks
