Taking the family to this property in July. Heard wonderful things about it (except that it's overpriced--but I always felt one should not go to a 4 Seasons or Ritz looking for bargains).

Anyone here have any comments/ experiences re: FS Punta Mita?

Superb property.. service was very good when I was there. The golf course is beautiful, but not an easy resort course. Im sure you will have a great time.

It is niiice. I spent the first part of my honeymoon there, a few years back when it had just opened. Great service, beautiful rooms, very secluded and private. Expensive, but deals can be found that make it less painful. We had a suite with a private pool, which was very classy. Arranged it through Amex, and paid something like $500 a night for a >$1000/night rack rate suite, so I couldn't complain in relative terms.

Very far from town, so don't think you can just hop into PVR for a quick trip. It is almost an hour on the road between PVR and the FS. If you have kids, this might pose a problem...

We have no intention of going into town. This trip is for a little pampering, not to soak up local culture (which, as you predicted, would be near impossible with a 1 year old and 3 year old).
