So has any of you had an "encounter" with maybe someone you met on the internet between flights during a mileage run?
Maybe at a hotel near the airport?

What does "has the padlock" mean? I am not a native English speaker.
When it comes to the original question I have not had any such experience. But I can imagine in these modern days with internet, e-mail, SMS and mobile phones anything is possible. Reachability has increased dramatically in a sense. So also for meeting people in faraway places...
Nevertheless I'd find it more interesting to know if your partners/husbands/wives are keen to join you if you make a mileage run? What more fun is there to travel with your loved ones? I am still a student, so on limited resources, but once I start working I'd love to make a RTW tour but not without my boyfriend.

"padlock" means locked as in a fobidden subject...... or maybe that it belongs in a different area such as OMNI since (grab your pearls) hets also have lay-overs, I think.
To answer the question - no, I haven't. Have I thought about it? Well, I guess that wasnt the question.

Sorry about that. It might have helped if I had spelled correctly too (my, instead of may). At any rate, you Dutch speak English amazingly well.
Since the topic is still open, the answer to the original question is no. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/frown.gif

To comment on the first remark:
Well maybe in comparison to some people in other countries.
To comment on the second remark:
Maybe it is no for the moment ILuvParis. But what has not happened so far, may be yet to come :-)
Bye,
Daniel
PS Thnx for the explanations!

Well, I have been on the road, so you can call it a push on your "padlocked by morning" bet.
I'm trying to think of ways that the topic could be answered for our PG-13 board without a "trip report" or just plain yes/no, and I can't think of any, but maybe you guys will think of something.
At the very least, I'll offer this that absolutely should be posted in reply to this.
It's dangerous to meet people on the internet to have sex with them!!! Lots of people do it, but it is still dangerous. People aren't necessarily who they say they are. It's even more dangerous to be in a strange city and have the other person know you don't know your way around or have friends that might drop by, whatever.

Sure, many FTers encounter other FTers between flights -- just look at the FT Community and FT Itineraries forums.

*LOL* I believe the implied "encounter" here is one of a closer kind than most FT encounters... and as I'm married no I haven't to answer the question although if the wife wanted to come along on a run we'd "encounter" as often as possible!
