I was just wondering whether anyone is planning on attending any of the Pride Weekends. Maybe that would be a good excuse to do a small get together for GLBT FTers.
also, it's nice and early, before philly gets truly sweltering for the summer. and not, like, sweltering in a good way, sweltering in a "don't touch me, i need to lie in front of the fan" way.

Not sure I'll be in PHL for pride since will be there for almost a week later in May (18-23). I know PHL is miserable in the summer - lived there for 4 yrs in college.

Just thought I'll resurrect my flag of Pride too. YVR's Pride Weekend is the first weekend in August and usually happens along side a few gay sporting events too.
The only time when we're blessed with amazing weather. Come join the fun!

Anybody else going to the San Francisco Pride Weekend this year (6/29/02 - 06/30/02)?
I just got a fantastic deal on Priceline for the 4* Park Hyatt for Saturday and Sunday nights for only $45.00/night! It's located 3 blocks from the parade route, and has normal rates in AAA from $249-$340/night.

Well, sadly, this will be the first time in four years that I have missed my hometown pride celebration here in Boston. Though it is for a noble reason...I am graduating! http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif However, there is a chance that I may join in the festivities down in my soon-to-be new home of NYC.

I shall probably make NYC Pride, and I have an eternal conflict with whether I go to DC pride or philly pride the same weekend. MOst likely I will end up in DC, more fun that way I think.

It ends up that I have to be in Boston for the entire week after Pride weekend (June 8/9), so it worked out perfectly with a Saturday night stay and everything... Details for Boston are at http://www.bostonpride.org/
Of course, since I'll be stationed somewhat permanently in SF this summer, I'll be attending that one as well...

Well, is this an annual affair? How many people are expected? Is it a good time? Box Elder (great name) has a leather bar? Do y'all bring a dish to pass?
I guess I'm fascinated by "small town" events such as this and glad to know they're happening. I grew up in a small town and couldn't wait to escape to the big city, but the BBQ/picnic aspect makes me remember some great times and great food as a kid.

Anyone going to Portland, OR pride? It's June 15, 16th. If you're looking for accomodations, I got a room at the Sheraton Four Points on PriceLine for $35 per night. Nice location.
It will be nice to get out of the Vegas heat.

Yes, it is the second annual pride picnic! Last year we had about 20-30 people, this year we are hoping for more. Yes, everyone brings a dish to pass and the bar supplies the burgers.
Since we are such a small community, TW's is a "family" bar. But it is the home bar of Leather Spirits, and we have a bar night once a month, appropriately themed, of course!
Box Elder is just down the interstate from Rapid City. About 5 miles from my house.
We are also working on a Pride Ride during the Sturgis Rally this year. Will post the details once I have them all worked out.
