SarahWest reminded us in another forum of her problems on United, and I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of what had happened to her and the difficult journey she's facing in trying to seek justice for something that's far worse than our everyday magazine and hotel clerk problems http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/frown.gif

Perhaps the updates should carry on here (or we can move the thread over), as this is certainly on topic for us, and not OMNI as far as we're concerned.

Thanks for anything you're able to share.

Good idea, Rob. I have been wondering how things were going.

Having stumbled to make the connection between Sarah and the issue - so slow i know - i'm hooked to this story. Sarah, are you coming to Chicago ?

First a quick update on the lawsuit. No changes since I last posted on Omni - I will be sending the amended complaint back to my attorney today. She will then send it back to the court and we have a court hearing scheduled in April.

We fully expect that United will again seek to have the lawsuit dismissed.

As for Chicago, at the moment I will say yes. There are two events in Chicago I want to attend which are happening at the same time. The Flyertalk gathering is obviously one (two Flyertalkers have so far survived encounters with me - I'm on a roll!) and the other is a large Transgender conference (http://www.be-all.org/) at which my attorney is speaking. It may mean a bit of commuting between Arlington Heights and downtown Chicago but I'll work something out. I am certainly aiming to get to the GLAM dinner on the Friday night.

I haven't booked flights or hotels yet. Saturday night I'll definitely be staying at the Radisson, Arlington Heights but haven't sorted out Friday night yet. If transport between Arlington Heights and downtown Chicago isn't too difficult I'll probably stay there two nights, otherwise I may find a Marriott somewhere convenient downtown. Suggestions anyone?

hrm. i didn't even know you were on flyertalk. heh. i've been following the developments with untied and noting very cheerily that i'm still under the "i'm never flying you idiots again" initiative. heck, i've got my mom's company's travel manager boycotting them.

which is good, because then they fly AA and see the wAAy and the li and....oh god, i can't even keep the pro-AA propAAndAA out of here. sorry. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

arlington heights to downtown isn't that bad. i'm not a marriott person, so i don't particularly have great advice to give, but i will cheerily note that chicago's not that hard to get around and that it's the right time of year to do a lot of walking before it gets oppressively hot-n-humid.

enjoy. i do hope you nail them to the wall and make them pay severely, but i could just be biased. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif
