Four to six times a year, I attend meetings in DC that are walking distance from the Twinbrook Metro stop, in Rockville, MD. Usually we are housed at the Doubletree. Something in the air filtering system there is incongenial for me, and I've been shopping for other options. I'm wondering what is available within walking distance of the White Flint metro stop.

I've tried the Ramada across the street, a Best Western in Rockville that required a shuttle or cab to the Metro, know about the Marriott's and Hyatt in Bethesda - those two near that Metro are an option, but a longer ride.

I'm wondering if there are other choices before I resign myself to the Doubletree.

I was just at a meeting there last week, and except for the air quality, I was pleased with how their logistics worked, excellent food, ...

Being that you are in the outskirts of DC and the closest hotel to the Twinbrook stop is the Doubletree, I would say stick to it if you can. I am not 100% familiar with the other hotels in the area but I know that the conference center at the Doubletree is very well run (a little biased opinion too... i know people who work there).
If you are willing to take the trip, go with whichever hotel best fits your needs, i.e. accomodations, member benefits, etc. If you are looking higher end you may need to resort to downtown DC hotels but that is at least a half hour metro ride.
Wish I could help you more.
